Cantor: I will not “compromise” my principles.

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, in an attempt to dispel his reputation as an obstructionist and the person responsible for Congress having a 91% disapproval rating, invited Lesley Stahl of CBS to meet his family and conduct an interview which aired on the CBS program 60 Minutes.

Cantor’s inflexibility was evident throughout the interview and observers could well understand why there is gridlock in Washington. This should surprise no one, as it was Cantor who recruited most of the Tea Party freshman class, currently dictating the Republican Party's policies in Congress.

Despite being asked several times if he would compromise, as his hero Ronald Regan did, he stated and I quote “Well, I would say cooperate is let's look to where we can move things forward where we agree. Comprising principles, you don't want to ask anybody to do that. That's who they are as their core being.”

I will make it simple for those of you that don’t understand this statement, My way or the Highway.

His lovely wife Diana is pro choice and he is pro life. I wonder what would happen if Mrs. Cantor or his lovely daughter or both were raped and became pregnant. During the pregnancy, complications arise that would result in the death of his wife (daughter) unless an abortion was immediately performed. Would he cooperate and move things forward or would he compromise and agree with an abortion. Just asking how deep his core really is.

Diana is also not anti gay he is. So what will happen if a child of Eric Cantor is gay and wants to marry a person of the same sex, will he stay with his core beliefs and expel that child from the family? Just asking.

Cantor’s attempt to humanize himself was a complete and utter failure. He is what he is and what he is an obstructionist who insists everything be done his way, as Cantor’s way is the only way. He will not “compromise” his principles.
